Dear Sirs,

We refer to your demurrage invoice dated [date], claim sum **USD 72,000.00**, in respect of voyage 2026-Houston-Rotterdam-003 (MV TEXAS STAR, steam coal 6000 NAR, Houston→Rotterdam, Gencon 2022 form).

We have completed an independent audit and respectfully dispute the claim. The vessel was entitled to **despatch USD 50,000.00**, producing a net amount **due to Charterer of USD 122,000.00**.

## 1. Engine calculation

- **Laytime allowed:** 120.00 h (Gencon 2022 + WWDSHEX + 12h turn time per CP Box 16)
- **Laytime used:** 60.00 h (per SoF events, weekend excluded under WWDSHEX)
- **Delta:** -60.00 h (vessel completed 2.5 days early)

## 2. Identified errors

a. **WWDSHEX counting.** Gencon 2022 Box 16 specifies WWDSHEX (Weather Working Days, Sundays and Holidays Excepted). Saturday 26 April and Sunday 27 April 2026 (loading days) appear to have been wrongly included in your laytime count.

b. **Bayport Terminal efficient turnaround.** 65,000 MT of coal cleared in 5 days at Bayport. Above contractual rate. Despatch crystallised at COB.

## 3. Demand

We demand withdrawal of the USD 72,000 invoice and payment of despatch USD 50,000 within fourteen (14) days.
